Clean frost footing dig on another one of our projects for @baxter_built in the Hudson Valley NY. It’s amazing how enjoyable these somewhat complicated digs can be with the use of John Deere’s machine control with satellite assisted guidance. It’s like having GPS in your car, you always know where you are. The operator can see on his in cab monitor exactly where to dig and how deep. Our SmartGrade machines dig at the exact location and elevation with the operator only pulling back on one stick. Things sure have changed from the old ways. It is equipped with 3D Topcon GPS with Autos and a dozer blade to give you precision grading in those tight spots and can quickly switch to a bucket and do all of the normal work that a CTL does. This hybrid crusher is powered by a Deere diesel engine that turns a generator. Not only is this a fuel savings but it’s quieter and smarter. But that isn’t the most exciting thing about this unit! Opening shot for Dietz Mining! 🧨🧨 Excited to be working in our new quarry. Super cool feature on our John Deere 350G excavator is the 3D GPS with SmartGrade. The system is linked to satellites and allows the operator to see on the monitor the elevation of the teeth and the location of the bucket on the property. I’ve always enjoyed screening dirt. 🙂 A few months back we picked up this Kleemann MS 13 Z Scalper and a 80’ stacker from @jescoequipment Both machines have quickly become favorites in our lineup. For the past decade we relied on a trommel to screen our topsoil because we believed that a deck screener would plug up in the clay based soils we have in the Hudson Valley. Being able to process and classify rock, gravel, topsoil, sand and more is not only a convenience but it’s good for the environment. Got to spend a few days with @johndeere and see up close some of the latest technology in Agriculture and Construction. As a guy who spent a few decades in Yellow Deere machines it was exciting to be learning about the Green tractors. AutoTrac hands free driving in the combine was cool to experience. That’s @tdietz03 in the X9 pulling a grain cart. Once he got close to me the Machine Sync system took over and automatically matches the combine and tractor speed and distance to perfectly load the cart quickly and without spilling any grain 🤯 Game Changer Thanks @johndeere for including us in the first ever Creator Day, it was a great experience. They just don’t know where to get the training. Society started looking down on people who work with their hands. Shop class, auto mechanics, home economics were removed from the schools and our youths missed a huge opportunity to learn these valuable skills. Fast forward to today and there is a growing workforce shortage. The skilled craftsmen are retiring and the void is starting to affect the quality of work that companies are putting out. The opportunities available for young workers to get into the industry have never been better! You can quickly find work and with the right attitude you can get the training you need to quickly become a valuable part of a team.
